How to book your self-catering accommodation
Before booking your accommodation you can view the availability and the price of each home on the cottages page. You can then book on the same page following the online instructions. If you would rather talk to someone directly please feel to call us on 01278 661 584, or enter your details on the contact us page and we will call you straight back.
What do we need to do when we arrive?
We will prepare your accommodation and forward directions; alternatively you can download this from our website. Check in time is 3pm. Our entrance is clearly signposted as you exit J24 of the M5, subsequent signposts direct you to the Reception from which you can collect keys and access your property. We also provide you with a 24 hour mobile phone number which can call should you have trouble finding our holiday accommodation. Upon arrival you will be taken to your property and given you a welcome tour, and answer any questions you should have. We provide a selection of tea, coffee, milk, sugar & biscuits – these are often welcome after a long journey!
What day can we arrive?
You can arrive on any day NB There is a supplement for Sunday arrivals and check outs.
What time are we required to check out?
On your departure day, you are required to leave your accommodation by 10am. Please contact the manager who will lock your property for you and collect your keys. This is to allow us sufficient time to prepare for the next arrivals. Luggage may be stored for collection later the same day.
We offer 3 & 4 night short breaks throughout the year, for details please check our availability & prices page. All 3 night breaks (weekend) must start on a Friday. All 4 night breaks (midweek) must start on a Monday
Is there parking?
A designated off-road parking space is provided to each holiday accommodation which is within close proximity of the entrance to each home. Additional unmarked spaces will often also be available. Lakeview are situated in open grounds with shared leisure areas, including two gazebos.
What about cleaning?
All properties are cleaned between lets so all you have to do when you arrive is to unpack and put the kettle on. There is no extra charge for cleaning. Daily cleaning is available at an additional charge.
Do you provide bed linen and towels?
Our luxurious self catering accommodation show the ‘ideal’ number that a property will sleep, based on a maximum of two people in a room. Bed linen is provided at no extra charge. If you require a cot, please bring linen (including pillows and blankets or duvets). Cots and high chairs can be provided, for a small charge. Linen is replaced weekly.
Do we have to pay for gas, electric and water?
Gas, electric and water are all included in the cost of your holiday for 2 weeks and under. Any stays longer than 2 weeks may incur an additional charge.
Do I have to pay a security deposit?
A payment of a £100.00 security deposit will be required to be paid by upon arrival. Your security deposit covers the cost of any damage or breakages along with any additional costs that may be incurred. (e.g. for additional cleaning requirements). The deposit will be refunded to you three days after your departure as long as you or your party has not caused any damage or loss and the accommodation has been left in a clean and tidy state.
Is smoking allowed in the homes?
No smoking is permitted in any of the holiday homes at Lakeview. Guests are welcome to smoke outside.

Do you take pets?
We do not accept pets but have Accessible lodges that are dog-friendly only to Guide/Hearing/Companion dogs.
What about catering for special requirements?
We’ll do everything we can to help those in your party with special requirements by suggesting accommodation that is especially suitable – just let us have all the relevant information at the time of booking. All properties have a downstairs toilet.
What about fishing?
We are happy to allow fishing in our private lake, but we do ask that you return anything you catch. Fishing is available from the nearby canal with a small charge, call us on 01278 661 584 for more details. We also provide a designated store for your equipment and outside taps to wash off after a busy day. Fishing rods can also be hired locally.
Can we bring our bikes?
Yes, we welcome families to bring along their own bikes and have a purpose built store to keep them secure. We are surrounded by flat lands and lanes which make great cycling for both young and old! We have our own private access to the Taunton-Bridgwater Canal towpath and for the more energetic guests, the Quantocks and Blackdown Hills offer some challenging off-road cycling. Don’t worry if you can’t fit the bikes in, we have details of a local bike hire business who deliver bikes and trailers to site.
Is your self-catering accommodation wheelchair accessible?
Yes, two of our holiday bungalows have been specifically adapted to include wet rooms, wheelchair accessible kitchen worktops, safety grab rails and supports in bathrooms, these properties have tiled floors throughout. We are able to hire shower chairs on your behalf. Is your holiday accommodation suitable for young families?
We take your safety and wellbeing very seriously and our holiday accommodation is well maintained for your comfort and safety. We have high chairs, cots and fire guards available to hire, the prices are as follows: Cot Hire £15.00 | High Chair Rental £15.00
Are your gas appliances certified as safe?
All gas appliances have been installed, and are maintained, by a CORGI registered engineer. A landlords gas safety certificate is available for all properties.
