Lakeview Holiday Cottages Access Statement

Our holiday cottages are accessed via a long private tarmac drive, keys may be collected from our manager’s cottage, which is centrally located within the site and clearly signposted from the drive. Ample parking is adjacent to the manager’s cottage, including two disabled parking bays and dropped kerb access to pathways. However, if mobility is a problem, please sound your horn or call the manager’s mobile phone (this number is displayed in the car park), as we will be expecting you and will come out promptly and direct you to your accommodation. All properties have a minimum of one parking bay to the front, with additional parking adjacent.

Lakeview Holiday Cottages consists of a selection of two & three bedroom two storey cottages and four two bedroom lodges, two of which been further adapted for wheel chair users or those with mobility difficulties. There are level paths and/or gently sloped ramps, leading up to each property, tarmac pathways edging the car park and a small threshold over which to step in order to enter the property. Our two storey properties are not recommended for wheelchair users or the very elderly.

The rear gardens enjoy a small paved area for al fresco dining and open plan grassed communal gardens. The gazebo’s, BBQ area, children’s play area and lake can be accessed via stepping stones and grassed lawns. This may cause some difficulty for those using wheelchairs, particularly in times of heavy rainfall. The lakeside walk is along a natural pathway carved from the undergrowth and is not recommended for wheelchair users.

We describe the access to the two and three bedroom, two storey cottages separate to our two bedroom lodges, two of which being WHEEL CHAIR ACCESSIBLE: Meadowsweet lodge and Willow lodge.
