  1. Clavelshay Barn, North Petherton

  1. Harvest Moon, North Newton

The Harvest Moon restaurant makes its way into spot two because of its absolutely delectable Sunday Carvery. The meat tastes fresh and the vegetables are beautifully cooked, and the Yorkshire puddings are to die for.

Did you know that the UK has two days dedicated to Yorkshire puddings? 13th October is National Yorkshire pudding day (which even the Yanks celebrate) and the first Sunday of February is the British Yorkshire pudding day.

  1. Rising Sun, West Bagborough

The Rising Sun in West Bagborough is a considerable rising star. Their roast loin of west country pork is to die for, and their roasted potatoes are top notch. While the menu is more restaurant vibes than your typical pub Sunday roast the atmosphere is still grand. This countryside Inn also hosts a fine selection of vintage wines that help the roast go down smoothly.

  1. Babbling Brook, Shurton

The Babbling Brook can be a little off the beaten track, but we can assure you it is completely worth it. The pub itself dates to the 16th century. Their Sunday Carvery has won awards and rightly so, as their gravy is rich and tasty, the meat is all local and the Yorkshires are massive; it sound like one of the best Sunday roasts in Somerset to us!

You can date roasts back to the 15th century, with King Henry VII and his royal guard being aptly named the “beefeaters” after their love of a good British roast beef.

  1. Candlelight Inn, Bishopswood

The Candlelight Inn comes in 5th but is far from last place, with a delicious Sunday menu that will leave you stuffed. Their Sharer platter is devilishly delightful and their chestnut stuffing will leave your tastebuds dancing. They use the best meat from the best local suppliers and their chefs add a fantastic flair to the Sunday meal.
